bookmark_borderLil Wayne Playlist

I am first to admit I was not a fan of Lil Wayne to start with. maybe his best was yet to come. 20 years ago Pablo from work gave me the hot tip and my good friend Neil was always telling me about this song called John (still not my fave sorry). Later on Camo and Curtis were pumping “Steady Mobbin” one night. sick. Lil Wayne starting to skate was hilarious but he got decent, so i had to eat my words. He teamed up with Shane Heyl on “Hello” another great rap/rock mix which does not get enough attention. Get into it

bookmark_borderRush Junior High N.O.R.E Superthug Winny Hazle Bodyboarding

one of the most under rated VHS combos coming out in the early 2000s for booging videos. Rush Junior High and Transition combo. I think it was $30 from what I remember

music and surfing next level but failed to hit full potential due to a flooded market of quality videos. I rated it. i hope others in boog land feel the same

this clip features some vintage Dave Winchester. A far cry from his current NMD boards and dad duties. He was bright Custom X bat tail, fluro hydro techs, peak wetsuits and random hair dye jobs. this embodies clip my first viewing of watching winny surf at GOB and Aus Tour comps at Kiama Wedge. he was new to the scene and absolutely killing it, turning heads and putting old heads on notice

Jason Hazle aka Hazelhoff another ripper in this clip. Hazle has long departing the boog scene but a strong presence on the world tour. Rumoured to have won the lotto, involved in the art world and last seen driving off into the Vicco wilderness in his Hummer.

Here is the clip of this duo shredding and full clip of N.O.R.E’s Superthug

Chicago town. I am sure there will be plenty of Kanye on this blog but we will keep it on the simmer for now

Originally from the song spaceship from Kanye’s first album “the college dropout”.

GLC stands out for me. Not to be confused with the Goldie Lookin Chain. His deep, clear tone makes you listen.

This track is from his only studio album, produced and featuring John Legend. GLC might be up the top. But definitely on my hit list

bookmark_borderItalo Disco!

I am not sure how this genre of music hit my radar. but me likey.
February 2014 saw Ken Lazlo – Hey, Hey Guy ran so hot on my Blackberry it caught on fire. By August 2018 on a trip to Port Douglas for a friend’s wedding Valerie Dore – The Night was cooling me down. Somewhere in between this clip was uploaded and it was magic. The random European nightclub with the camera pesting everyone up and great combo of songs.
For a while they removed this video and just had a random thumbnail, not sure why. It would have had double the views for sure
Other noteable mentions is Scotch – Discoband

Newish? From Newcastle? Yeah, almost, December 2022 is when the youtube clip was put up. 15th of April 2023 is when it hit my Shazam. The southbound trip home from work always produces the goods with Triple J. Windang Driving Range is usually when it kicks in. Tons of fun from this one. Clip is sick and I rate it. Struggling to get into thier other songs. But time will tell on that

The comment below nailed it with my thoughts. maybe a incy bit of Grafton Primary in there as well

bookmark_borderMetallica – Seek & Destroy

I must admit I was not a Metallica fan till my late teens. Subjected to Enter Sandman on RAGE and Year 7 school discos, it just wasn’t for me at the time, The Unforgiven II just made me more confused. Thanks to Macca and Digs for trying. Fast forward to my late teens Whiplash entered the scene used in moto and booging vids. It was fast and sick. The doco Some Kind of Monster hit it home for more and Frantic psyched me up. I can hear the Metallica fans sharpening thier pitch forks.

Fast forward to COVID times of YouTube Autoplay. This lands in my ears. It kind of reminds me of Dead Kennedys – Police Truck. Fonts of the album used for the logo this very website.

Let’s go pop punk! from an epic boogin’ DVD from the Waldron Brothers, Chad and Kane. Focusing primarily in Hawaii the section has Crashy, H Dixon, Port Boys, Crowley, Buntos. Personally the piano solo in some Jono waves sells the song and section for me

I will be dropping a fair bit of Mobb Deep in here. but first up is a gem for the ill fated G Unit association of Mobb Deep (2005 – 2009). They did drop some bangers in that time. Here is P dropping some mixtape love and sick lyrics
